ArcWeb Explorer JavaScript to Flex Bridge samples

A variety of Quick-Start and Quick-Start Plus samples using JavaScript to Flex Bridge are available.

Quick-Start samples

These Quick-Start samples demonstrate how to show a map, add markers, and change map types using the ArcWeb Explorer JavaScript to Flex Bridge.

For each sample, click the title to view an interactive map sample. Use the view source option in your Web browser to view the code for each sample.

Title Description
Show map The "Hello World" example of a mapping API: these are my coordinates, give me a map.
Add marker View a typical mapping mashup. Points of interest are displayed on the map with appropriate awxels.
Switch Map Type View the different map types that can be generated using the API and dynamically switch between them on the client side. The map types are Streets, Aerial, Hybrid, Street Tiles, Shaded Relief Tiles, and Topographic Tiles.

 

Quick-Start Plus samples

These Quick-Start Plus samples are designed to help developers who have already used the Quick-Start samples to integrate additional functionality, such as map information, into their application using ArcWeb Explorer JavaScript to Flex Bridge.

For each sample, click the title to view an interactive map sample. Use the view source option in your Web browser to view the code for each sample.

Title Description
Add Shapes & Event Listeners Add circles, polylines, and polygons to a map. This sample also shows how to add mouseOver and mouseOut events, and styles (like colors, transparency, borders) to polygons.
Place Finder Use ArcWeb Explorer without a map. You can use the ArcWeb Explorer JavaScript to Flex Bridge to connect directly to underlying ArcWeb Services, such as Place Finder.
ArcIMS Sample Use an ArcIMS service. You can use the ArcWeb Explorer JavaScript to Flex Bridge to connect directly to an ArcIMS Service.
Two maps Show two connected maps side-by-side.
Find-anything Use the find feature.
Marker events Add an event listener to markers, bubble markers, and other overlay layers.
Printing with Flex Print using Flex built-in print functionality (mx.printing).
Right-click menu Create your own right-click menu.
Using a widget Use the built-in widgets.
